Calculator HelperIncluded for free

Calculates the way you think.

One input line instead of lots of buttons: Calculator Helper understands percentages, net and gross, hours, dates and currencies. Every calculation goes onto a tape you can change at any time – and the = key brings it up on every page.

How it works

Type, Enter, done.

No menus, no modes. You write the calculation the way you would say it to someone.

  1. 1

Write the calculation the way you say it

“20% of 450”, “1:45 h * 65” or “100 EUR to USD” – the result is there while you type. Dots and commas are read to match your language.

  2. 2

Carry on like an adding machine

Enter puts the calculation on the tape. If the next line starts with + or ×, it continues with the last result. Every line can be labelled and changed later – everything after it recalculates.

  3. 3

Net, tax and gross in one step

“net” or “gross” after an amount shows all three values at once. The tax rate matches your country – in the US, your state.

  4. 4

    At hand on every page

Press = anywhere in the dashboard and the calculator opens as a small window. The tape is the same as on the calculator page and in the widget.

Quick calculators

The calculations that come up in the office every day

Next to the input line there are five small calculators with fixed fields. Every result can be copied with one click or put on the tape.

Margin and markup

Which selling price gives a 35% margin?

Enter the cost price, pick target margin, markup or selling price – the rest appears instantly. No more mix-ups: a 25% markup is only a 20% margin.

  • Works in both directions
  • Shows margin, markup and gross profit side by side
  • Puts the calculation on the tape with one click

Dates and times

Deadlines and hours without flipping through a calendar

Date plus days, weeks, months or business days, days between two dates, hours in the 1:45 format added up or multiplied by your hourly rate.

  • It also understands “today”, “tomorrow” and “yesterday”
  • Business days skip Saturday and Sunday
  • Month ends are handled correctly (Jan 31 + 1 month = Feb 28)

Currencies

Convert with the ECB reference rates

Around 30 currencies, updated daily by the European Central Bank. Right in the input line (“100 EUR to USD”) or in the currency calculator with a swap button.

  • Rates updated on business days, always shown with their date
  • Amounts in different currencies can be added up
  • Remembers the currency pair you used last

Early payment discount

Is paying early worth it?

Amount to pay, saving and deadline at a glance – plus the annual interest rate the discount equals. So you see right away whether paying early pays off.

  • Discount period and payment terms shown as dates
  • Annual rate comparison using the common formula
  • Pairs well with the Bills Agent, which keeps an eye on supplier discounts

Small, but well thought out

Dashboard widget

Input line and the latest lines of the tape right on the dashboard – for a quick calculation in between.

Exact, not approximate

It calculates with decimal numbers instead of floating point. Amounts are rounded to two decimal places, half up.

Tape as a note

With Notes Helper active, one click turns the tape into a sticky note – with labels and total.

Tax to match your location

Any US state, the UK, Germany, Austria or Switzerland – or a rate of your own. The default applies only to you.

Fully keyboard-driven

= opens, Enter adds, arrow up brings back the last calculation, Esc closes.

Your calculations stay with you

Everything is calculated right in your browser. The tape isn’t saved and ends with the browser tab – only your tax default is stored.

English and German

“net” or “netto”, “of” or “von”, “days” or “Tage” – the calculator understands both, whichever language you use Automagio in.

Before / after

No more scrap paper, phone apps and side calculations

Small calculations rarely take long – but they interrupt you all the time.

Without Calculator Helper

  • Find the phone calculator, type the number, type the result back
  • Percentages in your head: times 1.0625 or divided by it?
  • Convert hours to decimals first
  • Look up the exchange rate in another tab
  • No record of how you got there

With Calculator Helper

  • Press = on any page in the dashboard
  • “1,250 net” shows net, tax and gross
  • “1:45 h * 65” just works
  • ECB rates are built in
  • Every line sits labelled on the tape

Working together

Results that don’t get lost

One click moves the tape into Notes Helper.

Questions

What you want to know first

Short, straight answers. If yours is missing, just ask us.

How much does Calculator Helper cost?

Nothing. Calculator Helper is included in every Automagio account and doesn’t use a language model.

Are my calculations saved?

No. The tape lives only in your browser tab and is gone once you close it. Only your tax default and the currency pair you used last are stored. If you want to keep a tape, save it as a note in Notes Helper.

How accurate is it?

It calculates with decimal numbers instead of floating point, so there are no rounding errors like 0.30000000000000004. Amounts are shown rounded to two decimal places (half up); divisions use 24 decimal places internally.

Where do the exchange rates come from?

They are the European Central Bank’s reference rates, published on business days around 4 pm CET; the calculator always shows their date. Real payments use your bank’s rate.

Which tax rates does it know?

The state sales tax rates of all US states and Washington, D.C., the United Kingdom (20%, 5%), Germany (19%, 7%), Austria (20%, 13%, 10%) and Switzerland (8.1%, 3.8%, 2.6%). For local add-ons or other countries, enter your own rate.

What does the input line understand?

Basic arithmetic, brackets, powers, percentages (“+ 6.25%”, “20% of 450”), “net”, “gross” and “+ tax”, hours (“1:45 h”, “90 min”), dates with days, weeks, months and business days, and currencies (“100 EUR to USD”). English and German terms both work.
